Local Organic Farms CSA Week 1

First thing in the morning I went straight to the fridge and went to work. Here is what we got and what I did to keep it fresh: 1lb. bunch of Asparagus – cut ends a little, wet a paper towel and wrapped it around the fresh cut ends and then into a bio bag. 1 pint of Strawberries –they wet washed right before they get consumed or mold will form and they will turn soggy. 1bunch of Red Scallions — untouched in a bag along with 2 pieces of Field Leeks also untouched. Two heads of Greenhouse Baby Bok Choy — ends cut off, washed well under running water, dried in a paper towel-lined Tupperware. 8oz. bag of Greenhouse Mesclun — washed, spun dry and into paper towel lined Tupperware. 1 head of Greenhouse Red Lettuce — washed, hand-torn, spun dry and mixed with Mesclun. 8oz bag of Field Spinach — stemmed, washed, spun dry and into paper towel lined Tupperware. 1 bunch Fresh Cilantro — washed and wrapped in a paper towel egg roll style and into the fresh herb Tupperware. All was put into the produce drawer of the fridge to be used as needed.
